KITTI KITTI BOONBOON

Mona has sold to a wonderful family in Wisconsin! We look forward to watching their success in the show pen.

Kitti Kitti Boon Boon, affectionately known as ‘Mona’, is a 2015 AQHA registered mare with beautiful motion and a striking presence. She’s a black bay rabicano with a long mane and tail, and is everything you could want in a nice horse: comfortable gaits, a fancy handle, beautiful movement, a strong work ethic with no quit, a confident personality, and all of the heart and try.

Bred on a 4,000 acre ranch, her bloodlines were specifically chosen to cross modern-day athleticism and cow (High Brow Cat x Peptoboonsmal) on a 30-year breeding program of proven ranch horses who are sound of body and mind. She spent the first three years of her life in the hills and river beds of Kansas developing and finding her feet and confidence on steep and varied terrain.

Started as a 3yo, she began her education on the ranch working, checking fences, pushing pairs, etc. While still working the ranch, she received professional training and has two years of Cowhorse, Versatility Ranch Horse, and Ranch Riding training. She has a ground-covering walk, the smoothest trot and lope, and a big stop. She can trot and lope almost in place, or stride out and have a beautiful working trot or the speed to catch a cow if asked. She’s cowy and good down the fence, has been tracking the hot heels and lead steers on the heel side this spring, and has been started on steer stopping.

Mona has been hauled extensively and has seen the sights, as well as having been lightly shown. She will ride in a halter, snaffle, bosal, or bridleless with a neck rein, and has been started in the two rein and bridle as of this year. She is no drama, middle of the pecking order, and loves to be ridden. She is very personable and a favorite everywhere we take her.

Her sire has won a significant amount of money and points in roping, Reined Cowhorse, AQHA Versatility, AQHA Ranching Heritage, and sorting, and is still showing and working the ranch. Mona is also Ranching Heritage Challenge eligible.
